70 - DEREK LILLIQUIST, INDIANS, P

The basics: Derek Lilliquist re-emerged on the baseball card radar in 1993 after disappearing from most '92 sets thanks to spending much of 1991 in the minor leagues.

Card thoughts: Not much to say because I'm distracted by the dust particles that accumulated while this card was waiting to be photographed. Should've brushed those off before snapping the picture ... or retaken it.

Backs are important in '93 UD: At 71 games, 1992 was Lilliquist's busiest year and also the start of his career as a reliever. He was mostly a starter before being sent down in 1991.

More from '93: Bill Bixby, who I knew as one-half of "The Incredible Hulk" TV tandem with Lou Ferrigno as a kid, died of cancer at age 59 on this date in 1993.

  1. Someone tried to get that baseball lined up with the "R"

  2. Bill Bixby was a big part of my childhood. He's also one of the first celebrity deaths that I can remember taking note of, unfortunately.

  3. Not much to say about Lilliquist, but I did love Lou Ferrigno on King of Queens :)
