The basics: Kevin Brown's card appears after his first star season in the majors. He won 20 games (21-11) for the first-and-only time in 1992.
Card thoughts: It looks like Brown is throwing to first after fielding a bunt on the third base side of the mound. I think that's third baseman Dean Palmer behind him.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Brown would match 35 games started two other times in his career but never surpass it.
More from '93: As you may have seen in sports coverage today, the "Lambeau Leap" was coined on this day 30 years ago as Packers defensive back LeRoy Butler jumped into the stands after scoring a touchdown off a lateral from Reggie White after a fumble recovery against the Raiders.
That photo UD used for Brown is super busy. Nice job breaking down the play. And as a Packers fan, I knew Butler was the first one to perform the Lambeau Leap. Just didn't realize yesterday was the anniversary.
ReplyDeleteIf his hat had been turned just a little bit more the top of the card would've read 'Uppet Deck'.
