The basics: This is Mickey Tettleton's second card in the 1993 Upper Deck set. He appeared on card No. 46 with Cecil Fielder.
Card thoughts: Tettleton's got some upper-body strength there. ... Also, the D on his helmet is next to the D in Upper Deck.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Second straight card with a mound-meeting photo! Tettleton and Travis Fryman appear to be waiting for the relief pitcher to come in.
Tettleton set career-highs in doubles and home runs in 1992. He also led the league in walks. He was in the middle of three straight seasons of 30 home runs.
More from '93: The Denver Nuggets' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was born on this date in 1993.
Mickey Tettleton, high on my "if I ever start another PC" list.
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with Pope and never would have guessed that Tettleton led the league in walks. But I do remember him with that upper body strength and hitting bombs.
ReplyDeleteNot the most interesting "More from..." fact today. I realize that they can't all be winners though.
