The basics: Bill Doran was already a member of the Milwaukee Brewers when this card came out. He was purchased from the Reds in January 1993. He played only 28 games for Milwaukee and that was the end of his MLB career.
Card thoughts: Well, I don't know who the base runner is but seeing Doran in a Reds uniform is interesting. I have virtually no memory of him with the Reds even though he's wearing that uniform everywhere on cards from 1991-93.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Not sure what's going on in this photo but it doesn't seem good for Doran.
More from '93: The highest debut on the Billboard Top 40 this week in 1993 was "Can't Enough of Your Love" by Taylor Dayne at No. 27. I can't say I remember that song but I bet if I played it, I'd know it.
A. Only remember Doran with the Astros.
ReplyDeleteB. Didn't recognize the name of the song, but I listened to it on YT and it sounded familiar. Looks like it's a cover of a Barry White song.
OK, if you guys don't know "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe" by Barry White, I'm old as the hills.
ReplyDeleteI remember the Taylor Dayne cover from playing it on the radio, but it's rather uninteresting.
I know it. I didn't make the connection with the song title. I really don't remember Taylor Dayne's version. I was big into alternative music in '93 and stopped listening to Top 40 so some songs I don't remember.
