147 - CHRIS SABO, REDS, 3B

The basics: Chris Sabo's lone card in the 1993 Upper Deck set. But it's the Reds' eighth appearance in the set so far, which is one of the higher totals. The White Sox, meanwhile, have appeared just three times and one of those was a checklist.

Card thoughts: "Spuds" appears to be preparing to make a dive for a ball down the line as the "C" on his cap replaces the first "E" in "Upper Deck".

Backs are important in '93 UD: Sabo struggled with an ankle injury throughout the 1992 season and didn't reach 100 games. He would rebound in 1993 and appear in 148 games. But that would be his last season with the Reds. He'd sign with the Orioles as a free agent.

More from '93: On this day in 1993 it was Groundhog Day, but not just any Groundhog Day. It was the last Groundhog Day in which the world didn't know the movie "Groundhog Day". That movie was released in 1993, 10 days after Groundhog Day.
