As the write-up says, Olivares was known to be a good-hitting pitcher who was used periodically as a pinch-hitter. He batted .235 overall in 1992. He would hit even better in 1993, at .269, but in fewer at-bats as he was mostly a reliever in '93.

ReplyDeleteB. My teacher buddies are dressing up as characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was designated "Barrel". Haven't started working on my costume. Not sure I will.
