The basics: Kevin Gross makes his only showing in the 1993 Upper Deck set. Donruss gave Gross an extra card in '93 on the occasion of his 1992 no-hitter. I'm just noticing that Score's only card of Gross in '93 was commemorating his no-hitter, he didn't get a regular card in the set.
Card thoughts: We've come across lots of unusual photos of pitchers in this set so far, but this is the first one of a pitcher running the basepaths. I wonder if we'll see another card like this again?
Backs are important in '93 UD: OK, there's photo evidence of Gross being a pitcher.
1992 was not a great year for Gross -- nor anyone on the Dodgers -- but his no-hitter against the Giants in August of that year was the only no-hitter thrown that season.
