The basics: The second checklist for the main portion of the set. This one features Barry Bonds in his first appearance in the set. He'll show up several more times, but all of those are with his new team, the San Francisco Giants. This is the only one in the set that shows him with the Pirates. Bonds signed as a free agent with the Giants on Dec. 8, 1992.
Card thoughts: It looks like Bonds is wearing a throwback uniform, likely from 1939 when the Pirates wore blue and red and had "Pirates" in red script on the front.
Backs are important in '93 UD: The back shows a nice portrait of Bonds in Pirates yellow but it's covered with a bunch of names and numbers.
But this card serves as a nice summary of the last 100-plus cards documented on the blog. On to the next 100!
More from '93: On this date in 1993, Montreal Canadiens rookie Ed Ronan scored 14 seconds into overtime to lift the Canadiens to a 3-2 victory over the Bruins. It was the quickest overtime goal during the 1992-93 NHL season.
