211 - JOSE VIZCAINO, CUBS, IF

The basics: Jose Vizcaino was entering his third season with the Cubs when this card was issued. Vizcaino would play in the most games for a single season in his career with 151 in 1993. He'd match that total in 1997 with the Giants.

This is the first horizontal card since card No. 200.

Card thoughts: A prime candidate for a "shadow shot". It appears that a prehistoric monster with a long tail is about to gobble up the ball before Vizcaino gets to it.

Backs are important in '93 UD: That is a nice shot as it appears that Vizcaino has tagged the Dodgers' Lenny Harris on the fingers for the out. He also apparently has a thumb injury on the other hand.

The blurb reads like Vizcaino was the ninth NL player in 1992 to hit two triples in a game, which wouldn't be rare at all. But I believe it means to say that Vizcaino's two triples in a 1992 game was the ninth time that it had happened in the NL ever. The feat overall has occurred approximate 50 times in the majors (I couldn't get an exact total because the internet is dumb now).

More from '93: This week in 1993 the song "Two Princes" by Spin Doctors debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 85.
