The basics: Brian Barnes was enjoying his baseball card peak in 1993 with more cards of him issued than in any other year. No coincidence, 1992 was his best season.
Card thoughts: A bit of an odd arm angle here. It looks like Barnes fielded a bunt, spun and made a quick shot-put-like toss to first base.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Bunting at Wrigley! Is that Delino on deck?
UD makes sure to mention Barnes' hitting ability. He was known as decent-hitting pitcher and even posed as a batter on a couple of his minor league cards.
Barnes would convert to a relief role in 1993 and then spend 1994 with the Indians and Dodgers. He'd play in the minor leagues for the following six years -- the curse of being named a "Future Star" in 1991 Topps.
More from '93: This week in 1993, Paul McCartney's song "Hope of Deliverance" debuted at No. 88 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was just the second of three times McCartney would reach the Hot 100 in the 1990s. "Hope of Deliverance" peaked at No. 83.

I like the photo of him bunting better than the fielding shot. But gotta admit, I don't remember Mr. Barnes. Had to look up McCartney's song. Didn't recognize that either.
