The basics: This is the first of two cards for Mike Mussina in the 1993 Upper Deck set. He was one of the biggest sensations of the 1992 season.
Card thoughts: There seems to be several Upper Deck cards of players carrying equipment bags, although I haven't researched it. I don't remember seeing any prior to Upper Deck.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Mussina gets a nice, big picture on the back because of just two years of big-league stats. The bio details all of his 1992 greatness -- four shutouts was good for second in the league in 1992.
More from '93: On this date in 1993, CBS aired a special at 9 p.m. celebrating Willie Nelson and titled "The Big Six-O" -- he turned 60 a month prior. Willie Nelson is still going as of this writing at the age of 93.
Still going, still touring - he'll be in upstate NY in August and I just might go see him.
