The basics: Ryne Sandberg shows up for the first time in '93 Upper Deck. He'll appear three more times in the set, and is in a bunch of inserts. ... I haven't decided if I'm going to cover the inserts with this blog, as I don't have an example for each insert set.
Card thoughts: Just chilling by the batting cage. Nothing wrong with that shot.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Encouraging kids to regularly come out to the ballpark is a good idea. Hopefully that's still happening in the majors today.
More from '93: On this day in 1993, John Starks' famed dunk "over all the Bulls" clinched the Knicks' 96-91 Game 2 victory in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals and gave New York a 2-0 series lead over the defending champs. The Bulls proceeded to win the next four games.
A. The A's are offering 2 free kids tickets for every adult ticket purchase (on Sundays). The problem is there aren't many kids who want to watch the A's lose :D
ReplyDeleteB. That's one of my favorite dunks from an era when basketball was my favorite sport to watch. That Knicks team was stacked. I just looked at the box score of that game and I recognized all nine guys who played that night.
These last couple of CH cards would've looked a little better if the shots weren't so tightly cropped. Juvenile diabetes was certainly a worthy cause as well. It would probably be even more so now than it was back in 1993.
