The basics: This is the first of two Harold Baines cards in the 1993 UD set. He was traded in the '92 offseason and will appear with his new team much later in the set.
Card thoughts: How many designated hitters do you know who can handle fly balls in the outfield? Baines did play in the outfield in more than 40 games in 1992.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Notice that one stolen base in 1992. That was Baines' first stolen base since he stole two bases in 1986.

Fantastic action shot on the front, but they probably should have chosen a photo of him batting if they're going to list him purely as a DH.
ReplyDeleteGiven his build, I'm a bit surprised that he didn't have more stolen bases. Unless of course, he was just really bad at it and was caught on every attempt during those previous six years.
