The basics: This is Kevin Mitchell's second card in the set. He appeared in the Teammates subset with Ken Griffey Jr. and Jay Buhner -- the first opportunity to get used to seeing Mitchell in a Mariners uniform!
Like the previous posted card with the Twins, this is the first Mariners card in nearly 100 cards (96 to be exact). Mitchell will appear again in the set but in a different uniform.
Card thoughts: A tight, point-of-contact photo. There have been relatively few tight action shots so far in the set. Similar ones thus far: Tom Glavine, Chuck Finley, Bob Walk, Dave Valle, Roberto Alomar, Ruben Sierra and Mike Jackson.
Backs are important in '93 UD: Couldn't tell you what happened here but it's action at the plate, I know that.
Mitchell played in just the 99 games for the Mariners in 1992, but it was more than he played for the Padres (62), Athletics (51), Red Sox (27) or Indians (20).
More from '93: On this date in 1993, the Sports Illustrated cover featured the MVP of Super XXVII, which was Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman after he led his team to a 52-17 victory over the Bills on Jan. 31.

I remember him being traded to the Mariners... but don't remember his stints with the A's or Padres.
