The basics: Jose Rijo continued to deliver as the ace of the Reds' staff in 1992, winning 15 games for the second straight year, despite continued problems with his pitching elbow. His season was almost equal to the preceding one, but in 1991 he finished fourth in the Cy Young Award voting and in '92 he didn't get a single vote.
